Elec-Tones reunion concert to benefit Christopher Youth Center

Former members of the NLU Elec-tones will hold a benefit concert for the Christopher Youth Center.

The Elec-Tones were the show choir of the University of Louisiana Monroe. Their mission was recruiting students to the university.

The former Elect-tones director, Dr. Carol Christopher started Our House Incorporated in 1990 to benefit troubled youth. The name later changed to The Christopher Youth Center. The center helps struggling youth become their own success story.

The concert will feature former Elec-Tones performing at ULM's Bayou Point Event Center on Saturday, June 27 at 7 p.m. Tickets and information are available at christopheryouth.org Singers Laura Arrington and Cindy McKinney join Cory Crowe on Lagniappe to talk about the reunion concert.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
