On April 18, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at 1 Warhawk Way, the Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana hosts its annual Dragon Boat Festival on the bayou. This exciting, family-friendly event invites the community to grab their crews and enjoy a thrilling day of dragon boat racing, all in support of the children and families across Northeast Louisiana.
The Children’s Coalition doesn’t care if you’re an experienced paddler or a first-timer whose never gotten their feet wet, the festival has something for everyone. Beyond the excitement on the bayou, the event celebrates unity, fun, and spirit. The Children's Coalition aims to create a community to strengthen the lives of children and families.
Anyone not participating in the race is invited to enjoy the races from the spectator area. Both participants and spectators can grab food and drinks from the food truck vendors if they’re feeling hungry.
The Dragon Boat Festival serves as an important fundraiser for the Children’s Coalition. All their proceeds are directly invested into essential programs and resources that help children and families in the region. These initiatives help build safer and more supportive communities where young people can thrive.
