ULM's 10th Annual Women's Symposium

March is Women’s History Month. In celebration of this occasion, ULM is hosting the 10th annual Women's Symposium, held on Wednesday, March 18, at Bayou Pointe Event Center. The program will feature a panelist and moderator format to address the challenges women face daily, including networking, inclusion, leadership, professionalism, and financial advancement. This year's theme is "From Now to Next," honoring the program's 10th anniversary.

Chair of the Women's Symposium, Alberta Brown Green, expresses the reason for the program.“Women needed a place to be authentic, to learn, to be educated, and to be able to progress their career with like-minded women.”

The event will include keynote speeches from ULM President Dr. Carrie L. Castille, who took office as the university’s 10th president in 2025.

The ULM Women’s Symposium offers a variety of annual awards that acknowledge excellence at all levels of academic and professional success. These include the Legacy Award, Lisa Miller Distinguished Leader Award, Kristin Chandler Rising Professional Award, Vanguard Award, Emerging Student Leader Award, and the Empowering Student Leader Award.

The symposium aims to empower, motivate, and encourage women and girls of all backgrounds, educational levels, and career paths to pursue their passions and take on leadership roles. It also seeks to embrace and support all individuals, regardless of gender; all are welcome to attend.
