January field trips: Arctic adventures at The Children’s Museum

MONROE, La. – The Children’s Museum of Northeast Louisiana is offering free field trips for all Monroe City Schools this January. The “Arctic Adventures” program now includes transportation, hands-on STEM activities, and even a snow shower experience for students.

Students can participate in a variety of STEM options:

  • Build a feeder for our winter friends – learn about local wildlife and create bird feeders.
  • Animal adaptations – discover how Arctic animals survive in extreme cold.
  • Igloo building – explore the science and engineering behind igloo structures.
  • Custom STEM options – tailored activities available to fit classroom needs.

This program gives Monroe students a unique opportunity to combine science, creativity, and hands-on learning in a fun winter-themed experience.

Ja’Maya Clark is a freshman at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she is majoring in Pre-Nursing and participating in the Honors Program. Through her position with 90.3 KEDM, Ja’Maya looks forward to developing professional skills, gaining real-world experience, and contributing to her campus community.
