Ouachita Parish Library Serves Up Spooky Fun This October

Step back in time for a charming event held at Ouachita Parish Library Main Branch at 1800 Stubbs Ave. On Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Guests are invited to attend the Arsenic and Old Lace event, inspired from the film about two sweet elderly women with a deadly secret. Hosted by Amber Jorgensen, Ph.D from LSUS, the event will be explore the use of poison in literature.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up in vintage lace, adding a touch of old-fashion charm to the occasion. A full set of vintage teacups will be available for guests to enjoy a variety of teas, complimented by a beautifully arranged charcuterie board.

On October 25th, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Keep the Halloween spirit alive with zombie prom at the West Monroe Library on 315 Cypress. This free event is open to teens ages 12-18 and provides a safe, fun place to dress up in costumes or formally like prom. This night includes refreshments, music, games, a zombie makeover station, and button making fun. Tickets are free but needed for admission and will be available at any branch to pick up.
