The Kiroli Foundation and the City of West Monroe will host a living history tour at Hasley Cemetery on Saturday, November 1.
The second annual event, "Hasley: Voices of the Past," is a guided, ticketed twilight tour showcasing parts of the cemetery where several prominent local figures are buried. Their stories and contributions to the community will be brought to life by actors portraying these individuals, offering guests a journey through history.
The tour is both written and directed by Kay LaFrance-Knight, with Gayle Frick handling the casting and costumes.
Tours will be offered at four different times on Saturday—6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Guests should arrive at West Monroe City Hall ahead of their scheduled tour, where they will be transported by shuttle to Hasley Cemetery. Space is limited for each tour.
Tickets cost $25 per person and can be purchased on Eventbrite. A ticket link is available on both the City of West Monroe’s website (www.cityofwestmonroe.com) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CityofWestMonroe).
Participants should be prepared for some walking and are encouraged to wear suitable clothing for the outdoor event.
All proceeds will go toward supporting the City of West Monroe’s oral history project, which began in 2023.
