Monroe police continue search for driver in deadly Marie Place hit & run

Authorities in Monroe are still trying to find the person who killed a local citizen in a hit-and-run that happened early Monday morning, September 29, 2025.

The incident happened at the location of Marie Place and Milton Street at approximately 5:45 a.m., according to Monroe Police Department authorities. When responding police arrived, they discovered a man who was later identified as David Tucker, 62, of Monroe, who had been hit by a car while out on the street and had suffered fatal injuries. Before the arrival of law enforcement, the driver who was involved in the crash fled the site.

The suspect is still unidentified as of Tuesday, September 30, 2025 , and no one has been taken into custody. Anyone with knowledge regarding the incident or the involved vehicle is being urged to come forward by investigators.
