Treasure Island comes to Louisiana at ULM VAPA

The University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visucal and Performing Arts presents the play Treasure Island based on the classic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday, September 21-15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 24 at 2 p.m. at the Helen Spyker theater, 3803 Desiard Street.

The play tells the story of a young boy named Jim Hawkins who finds a map to lost treasure and goes on an adventure to try and recover it. Director and ULM professor Mark Ross Clark saw a new stage adaptation of Treasure Island and immediately fell in love with it. He says he decided then that he had to find a way to "bring it to Louisiana."

Directed by Mark Clark, with Technical Director and Set Designer Steven Burnside and Costume Designer Margaret Hall, and Stage Manager Artie Smith, this performance boasts a cast of veteran ULM actors including Wyatt Sage, Delaney Morgan, Maggie Ronconi, Landon Morris, Nicole Perez, Jacob Baham, Elizabeth Frison, Dena Hall, Ethan Lancaster, Ri'Kylah McCain, Madison Semian, Kyra Savage, and Jada Caldwell.

Admission is free for ULM students, $5 for ULM faculty, and $10 for general admission. Tickets are available in advance at Eventbrite and will also be available at door.
