'The Pursuit' returns to ULM to kick off Warhawks fall season

ULM's premier kickoff event for the upcoming 2023-2024 athletic season, The Pursuit, is happening on August 11 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The event will start at 6:45 p.m., but doors will open at 6:00 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $50, while reserved tables for eight are available for $600. Employees of ULM/VCOM can purchase tickets for $30. You can buy your tickets now at ulm.edu/thepursuit.

This year, The Pursuit has a new addition - the VIP Table Silent Auction. Fans of ULM Athletics will have the opportunity to sit with their favorite Warhawk coach during the event. The winner of each coach's table will receive eight tickets to The Pursuit and reserved seating at a VIP table with that coach. The tickets include food and beverages. The bidding for each coach's table starts at $1,000, with a minimum bid increase of $100. All profits from each auction will benefit that coach's program. The silent auction is currently open, and bids will close on August 2 at 5:00 p.m. You can place your bids at ulm.edu/thepursuit.

The VIP tables up for silent auction include ULM Director of Athletics John Hartwell, along with several coaches from different sports teams.

The Pursuit is sponsored by Cadence Bank, and Louisiana Seafood will provide delicious food for the attendees. All proceeds from the event will go towards student-athlete scholarships through the Warhawk Athletic Foundation.

The event will feature guest speakers, including former student-athlete Jesse Blair and current student-athlete Cameron Rogers. Attendees will also hear from ULM President Dr. Ron Berry and ULM Director of Athletics John Hartwell.

The Pursuit is named after the Curtis P-40 "Warhawk" fighter planes flown by Gen. Claire Lee Chennault's Flying Tigers during World War II. The ULM Warhawk mascot takes its name from these planes, which had iconic noses painted with an open shark's mouth with jagged teeth.
