"I was very impressed with each of the six folks that were selected for this portion of this process," said attorney Dennis Blunt, one of several non-voting ULM alumni representatives on the search committee. "To each of candidates, thank you for your interest in being a part of an institution that I care a lot about, and I wish we could have six presidents."

Mark Romero, chair of the UL System board thanked the members of the search committee, "I was certainly very impressed with the openness and objectivity that was put forth in the thought process. Your patience, endurance, and determination will be very well remembered by the members of this board."

Romero continued, "I want to thank the University and northeast Louisiana for welcoming us through this process. It is certainly my regret that we could not have a lot more community participation, but know that in this time we did the right thing through this process. We look forward to making a decision at the board level and installing the next president of UL Monroe, and certainly look forward to the prosperity, progress and the success that I know will come from that decision."
