courtesy/ Morgan St.

Dr. Willie Larkin has been selected as the new president of Grambling State University.  After more than three hours of deliberation by the presidential search committee Thursday afternoon, Larkin was announced as the committee's selection.

Larkin, who has been an administrator at Morgan State University, succeeds interim president, Dr. Cynthia Warrick, who decided not to apply for the permanent job.

In his interview before the search committee, Larkin emphasized better communication with students, and to encourage them to share and support the cherished tradition of GSU.

Larkin, and Dr. Gilbert Rochon, formerly of Tuskegee University, were the two finalists who returned for a final round of interviews Thursday morning.
