The ULM Gerontology Department Celebrates Ageless Sheroes

https://tinyurl.com/tb9vdrm

The ULM Gerontology Department is hosting Celebrating Ageless She-roes on Thursday, March 5, from 12 - 2 p.m. at the Terrace on the 7th floor of the ULM Library. This is a luncheon event to commemorate Women's History Month and honor women in the community who did not allow their age or gender to deter them from moving forward in their careers.

But what exactly is a she-roe? According to program director, Dr. Anita Sharma, "It is a someone who is willing to bring up women and help them achieve their life goals." That someone could be one of society's leading women or even a man who stands up, supports, and encourages them.

Sharma has already invited some of her own she-roes to the luncheon that will serve as the event's speakers: Janet Durden, Betty Cooper, Alice Prophit, and Laura Kilpatrick Marcellus. They are all strong, female leaders that will be speaking on behalf of women and men that they work with and defining who exactly she-roes are.

This event is free to the public, and everyone in the community is encouraged to attend. However, there is a limited number of seating. To secure a spot, please RSVP with Dr. Sharma at asharma@ulm.edu.
