Ronald McDonald House Benefits from Test Drive Event

The Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House helps families, and children who face serious medical problems.

The Ronald McDonald House hosts a test drive fundraiser on Tuesday, July 12.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. community members will be able to test drive a luxury BMW, Mercedes, or Audi at Hixson Autoplex. For every mile driven, a donation will be given to the Monroe Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House is an organization that helps families facing serious medical conditions. The house itself often serves as a home base for families from out of town receiving vital treatments at area hospitals.

According to Executive Director Georgia Street, the benefit comes at a good time, as the organization is working to replace some of the large appliances used by guests.

"When you have a 2-story house with thirteen bedrooms something always needs to be repaired, or freshened up, or fixed," explains Street.

To participate, guests can arrive at Hixson at 1201 Louisville Avenue and check in with the  Ronald McDonald House. BMW representatives will then help with a car selection. Many luxury models have been brought in especially for this event.

"We all love to test drive new cars, and when you're doing that to benefit an organization in your community that just makes it a double winner," says Street.

More information about the event, including how to volunteer, is available by calling the Ronald McDonald House at 387-7933.
