Bring Back Kiroli: Community Breakfast
Bring Back Kiroli: Community Breakfast
As Kiroli Park welcomes the community back following its closure for storm recovery, local leaders are inviting residents, businesses and community organizations to do more than simply return to the park — they are being asked to help shape what comes next.
The Community Breakfast: Bring Back Kiroli will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Kiroli Park Lodge, 820 Kiroli Road in West Monroe. Coffee and networking will begin at 8:00 a.m., with the program to follow.
The event is being presented through a partnership of the City of West Monroe, West Monroe–West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and Kiroli Foundation and is designed as an opportunity for the entire community to learn more about Kiroli Park, its recovery and the many ways individuals and organizations can become part of its future.
For generations, Kiroli Park has been one of West Monroe’s most treasured community spaces. As the park begins its next chapter, organizers hope to harness the same community spirit that has made Kiroli special for nearly a century.
“This is an opportunity to think beyond simply reopening the gates and ask what each of us can do to help Kiroli thrive for the next 100 years,” said Kristopher Kelley, CEO of the West Monroe–West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce. “You don’t have to represent a large company or bring a major financial contribution to make a difference. Our community has tremendous talent, creativity, connections and passion. Whether someone can contribute time, expertise, resources, volunteer service or simply a great idea, we want them at the table. Kiroli belongs to this community, and its next chapter should be one we help write together.”
“Kiroli Park is a true treasure in Northeast Louisiana,” said West Monroe Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell. “Our staff has worked incredibly hard to get the park restored to a point where it can be safely opened to the public, but we know the park will look different than how many remember it prior to Winter Storm Fern. We encourage the public to join us as we dream and plan together about what the park’s future will look like.”
During the breakfast, attendees will hear more about the park and opportunities to become involved in its continued recovery, enhancement and long-term success. The program is intended to connect people who love Kiroli with tangible ways to put that enthusiasm into action.
Community members are encouraged to attend whether they have an existing connection to the park or are simply interested in helping strengthen one of West Monroe’s most important public assets.
Potential involvement could take many forms, including volunteering, organizational partnerships, sponsorships and financial support, professional expertise, donated resources, community programming or ideas for Kiroli’s future.
The goal is simple: bring the community together around Kiroli and build momentum for the park’s next 100 years.
Registration for the Community Breakfast is free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged.
