The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana been chosen as one of the Top 200 nationwide finalists for the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program. If the Food Bank makes the Top 40 most voted causes, it will use the $25,000 grant to expand "Smiles Pack" program to provide over 200 more low-income senior citizens with a monthly box of food.The Food Bank needs the support of the entire community to get the votes it will take to win! ULM International Week is March 26-29. International Week celebrates the culture of international students at ULM through the sharing of food and festivities.

While moving to a different country can be hard, the International Student Center helps ease the transition. "The international students really become a big family," says Kaile Finies, an international student from Bonaire, an island off the cost of Venezuela. "It's important to have this big group because otherwise, people feel alone."

Artistry Shines at ULM Art Crawl

Thursday, March 9th the University of Louisiana Monroe will be holding its fourth annual Student Art Crawl. The art crawl will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is free to the public.

The crawl will be held at various spots across campus. Bry Hall will be featuring the 24th annual Junior and Senior High School Art competition, and Walker Hall will feature art from art majors and faculty on campus. Participants will also get to see students working on art in their private studios in Stubbs Hall along with art in the Sculpture Garden on campus.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Spring Art Crawl brings together the works of students, faculty and local artists.

Arely Castillo, coordinator of marketing for the ULM College of Arts, Education and Sciences explains that following the success of last year’s event, the college decided to expand the event. This year it begins at 5:00 Thursday February 17, and features even more galleries and exhibits.
