Ouachita Live free outdoor concert series features Geno Delafose

Downtown West Monroe is hosting a free, outdoor concert series, called "Ouachita Live." The star of the June concert on Friday, June 24 is Zydeco Grammy-nominated Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie. The concert will be at Alley Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is free to the public.

There will be food trucks at the event. Various downtown restaurants will be providing alcohol for attendees to purchase. There will also be free birthday cake, cupcakes, cookies and water available.

Ouachita Live is partnering with State Farm for a community birthday party to celebrate State Farm's 100 years anniversary. Blake Wheelis, with State Farm, said "We believe it could be the most well-attended concert in the series since we started it."

Ouachita Live began in March and will continue through October. Concerts will be on the last Friday of each month. Attendants are encouraged to bring a chair to enjoy the show.

The Ouachita Live concert on July 29 at 7 p.m. will feature Josh Hyde Band, a New Orleans blues and rock band. The concert on August 26 at 7 p.m. will feature various artists to show tribute to Webb Pierce.
