Monroe Symphony League host book fair to support Monroe Symphony orchestra

The Monroe Symphony League book sale returns to help support the work of the Monroe Symphony orchestra.

Mark Henderson, a member of the league, said, "The Monroe Symphony League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the symphony orchestra through fundraising efforts."

The collection is made up of gently used books donated by the community. Most of the books are priced at $0.50-1.00.

Many categories of books will be available to shoppers. Some of the categories include religion, suspense, biography, history, and many more.

Other items are included in the sale, such as DVDs, CDs, cassettes, vinyl, sheet music, knickknacks, and puzzles.

The first weekend of the sale will be Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, June 5 from 1 to 5 p.m.

A nominal charge will be included on the first day of the sale. Mark Henderson, "That money goes toward the upkeep of the building."

The second weekend will begin Friday, June 10, and end Saturday, June 11. The hours for both days are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
