West Monroe Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series

The West Monroe Brown Bag Concert Series will begin at noon on Wednesday, May 11.

This is a free outdoor concert series that is held at the Pavilion at 7th Square each Wednesday in May.

Kris Kelley, executive director of the West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, said, "We make a conscious effort to partner with member Music City Studios to highlight those musicians that are in our area that are local talent and give them a little bit of a boost invoice. So we are excited, each Wednesday in May, to bring a different artist."

The second concert will be held Wednesday, May 11 featuring Jordan Sheppard. Jordan is a northeast Louisiana-based singer-songwriter that has been influenced by everything from bluegrass and country, to rock and blues. The songs he writes are a blend of my experiences growing up in northeast Louisiana, the bluegrass band he grew up in, the Delta blues, and Texas country.

The following concert, on May 18 will feature Clara Mcbroom. Clara is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter who plays regularly at local and regional venues. Clara grew up singing in choir and church and recently started pursuing a full-time career in music for the last eighteen months.

The final concert in May will feature Josh Love. Josh Love grew up in the small town of Crossett, AR. While music was an integral part of his life, he didn’t pick up the guitar until he was 15 years old. After graduating high school in 2008 he moved to Monroe, LA to pursue a degree in music. There he was fortunate enough to find talented musicians to regularly play with. After graduating in 2015 he began playing professionally in the local scene, receiving the Emerging Artist Award for the 2016 NELA Music Awards.

The West Monroe Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series is presented by the WMWO Chamber of Commerce and the City of West Monroe.

The concerts are free to the general public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch while they enjoy various musical performances. Chairs and complimentary beverages and desserts will be provided. The Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series will continue with a fall series on Wednesdays in September.
