SYAA presents James and the Giant Peach

Strauss Youth Academy for the Arts presents Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach. The musical features music and lyrics written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and the book written by Timothy Allen McDonald.

The story is inspired by James and the Giant Peach written by Roald Dahl in 1961. James discovers a magic potion that results in a giant peach. Once in the center of the peach, James faces many obstacles and adventures before landing on the Empire State Building.

Victoria Steffins, the artistic director at SYAA, said, "It's all about a boy who has been left alone. He is going through this journey where he realizes that family isn't always something you're born into, it's those people that you find along the way. The people that are there for your lows, the people that celebrate your highs, and the people that choose to stay."

Performances will be Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. The following weekend, performances will be on Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 8 at 3 p.m.

Admission for adults is $15 and $10 for students. Tickets are available at syaaonline.com.
