New residents of Ouachita Parish received a personal touch in learning more about what the community has to offer.
On Thursday, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce hosted "Ouachita 101", an expo of local organizations and service groups sharing their work with those who have recently moved to Ouachita Parish.
Chamber President Sue Nicholson says the event is a convenient way to connect new employees to a new environment. "It helps them get plugged in. It also can show what's available for their family," she said.
Nicholson says there are a few 101 sessions each year. The next program is scheduled for November.
