World Series Tournaments are a Grand Slam for Ouachita Parish Economy

Discover Monroe-West Monroe hosted 2 baseball world series championships this week in Ouachita Parish. The DBB World Series and the DYB World Series brought a total of over $1.88 million to Ouachita Parish.

Four of the 2022 DBB, Inc. World Series Championship tournaments were hosted at the Sterlington Sports Complex with 2 Seams on July 22-27. The estimated economic impact for Ouachita Parish was over $1.4 million.

This year’s DBB World Series Champions are Junior Boys from Central-Clemson, South Carolina, Dixie Boys from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 15U from JPRD East, Louisiana, and Pre-Majors from Southland, Louisiana.

Discover Monroe-West Monroe and the East Ouachita Recreation District hosted the Dixie Youth Baseball (DYB) Regional World Series July 21-24 at the Ouachita Sportsplex. The estimated economic impact for Ouachita Parish was over $439,000.

Divisions included 6U T-ball, 6U Coach Pitch, 7U Coach Pitch, 9U, and 11U. Teams from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama competed for the championship in each division.

This year’s DYB World Series Champions are 6U T-ball from Shreveport, Louisiana, 6U Coach Pitch from South Bibb, Louisiana, 7U Coach Pitch from Paris, Texas, 9U from Monroe, Louisiana, and 11U from Panola County, Texas.
