City of Monroe wins State Cleanest City contest by category

Mayor Friday Ellis, the Monroe City Council, and the City of Monroe are excited to announce that Monroe has been awarded the Cleanest City State Award (by category) by the Louisiana Garden Club Federation.

"This designation would have not been possible without the hard work of City of Monroe employees," says Mayor Friday Ellis. "I am very proud of the men and women who go above and beyond to keep our city clean. Let's all work together to put litter where it belongs - in the trash."

The award was presented Thursday, May 26 by LGCF State President Roxanna Champagne and LGCF State Cleanest City Chairman Jean Gilstrap.
