Ouachita Outreach receives grant to hold small business development seminar

WEST MONROE – Ouachita Outreach, in partnership with the City of West Monroe and West Monroe Community Center, has received a grant from BancorpSouth/Cadence Bank to create training opportunities to support small business and economic development in the West Monroe area.

BancorpSouth/Cadence Bank presented a check to Ouachita Outreach and West Monroe Community Center representatives in the amount of $2,500 to develop a Women and Minority Small Business Development Program in West Monroe.

The focus of the program will be to educate women and minorities who are trying to navigate the challenges and roadblocks of developing businesses and securing funding. Trainings will focus on business development, credit requirements, tax credits, licenses, marketing and other issues.

Partner agencies include the West Monroe Community Center, SEE West Monroe AmeriCorps, BancorpSouth/Cadence Bank, West Monroe Main Street Program, West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
