Louisiana Authorities ID Woman Found in Submerged Car

A woman found inside a submerged car in Louisiana has been identified.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office says the victim found Saturday in floodwaters in Calhoun was 80-year-old Patsy Meeks, of Calhoun.

The News-Star reports investigators said Meeks was traveling on Golson Road, south of I-20 in Calhoun, when she went around road barricades and unfortunately got carried away by floodwaters that accumulated after severe weather hit the area.

She drowned inside of her car.

Funeral services are scheduled Thursday at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. at North Monroe Baptist Church.
