Man Gets 1½ Years for Attempted Indecent Behavior With Girls

A 58-year-old Louisiana man has been sentenced to 1½ years in prison for attempted indecent behavior with a juvenile.

St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Warren Montgomery says 58-year-old Jason Thomas of Pearl River was sentenced Monday to 3½ years on each of two counts. But he says Judge William Knight suspended two years if Thomas fulfils a three-year probation.

Thomas was charged with indecent behavior. Jurors convicted him on the lesser charge.

He was accused of making inappropriate comments to a 14-year-old, touching her bottom and having her take partly nude photos of herself with his camera.

Montgomery says the girl finally told relatives. One revealed that when she was about 12, Thomas had made similar comments, French-kissed her against her wishes and walked nude in front of her.
