Waters continue to rise in northeast Louisiana. Glenn Springfield, Public Information Officer for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, says while a few areas are improving, others are still bad.
“Some of the water has receded off some of the roadways in the northern part of the parish, however in the southern part of the parish, there’s still several roads under water," says Springfield.
Springfield advises all residents to stay home at this time and to be cautious if by chance you must leave.
“Watch for the barricades…try to keep from driving through the high water, especially rushing water because water can move a car real quick and you’ve compounded an emergency situation," says Springfield.
Springfield says water will gradually recede in some areas but is also moving to other areas. He says we’re expected to see an increase in water coverage throughout the day and into Wednesday night.
