BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Old Governor’s Mansion will open its doors on Sunday, March 1, from 12 to 4 p.m. to celebrate Women’s History Month with a special event titled “Grace & Governance: A Reflection on the Past and a Vision for the Future.” This edition of the mansion’s Free First Sunday will feature a panel discussion at 2 p.m., moderated by Adonica Duggan, CEO of the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students.

The panel includes prominent community leaders Donna Saurage, owner of Community Coffee; Krista Raney, Executive Vice President of the LSU Foundation; and Jill Kidder, President and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge. The discussion will focus on the evolving roles and contributions of women in Louisiana’s professional and political landscapes.

After the panel, guests are invited to a reception at the mansion and can explore tours showcasing rarely exhibited artifacts connected to five influential women who redefined the role of Louisiana’s First Lady and shaped the state’s politics.

The Old Governor’s Mansion is one of nine museums operated by the Secretary of State’s office, dedicated to bringing Louisiana’s history to life through exhibitions and educational programs. Admission is free, and the mansion is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with special hours from 12 to 4 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
