Lafayette, La- The Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL) is celebrating over 50 years of partnership with Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, taking place October 10–12 at Girard Park in Lafayette. This year features new French and Creole programming, including La Tente Louisianaise, a space for language activities such as beginner lessons, Creole conversation, and games.
CODOFIL also worked with the festival to translate the website and food menus into Louisiana French, expanding accessibility for French speakers and learners. Other highlights include a French Mass, bilingual dance lessons, and music workshops led by David Greeley and Zachary Richard.
Festivalgoers can visit the CODOFIL tent for resources, buttons, and fans celebrating Louisiana’s French and Creole heritage.
