BATON ROUGE, La.—In a move aimed at improving accessibility and voter comprehension Louisiana has announced the debut of redesigned absentee voting envelopes for the upcoming October 11 elections. Voters who have requested absentee ballots can expect to receive the updated envelopes in the coming days.
The new design features larger print and simplified instructions, making it easier for voters to navigate the absentee voting process. Secretary Nancy Landry emphasized that the redesign prioritizes both clarity and security.
“Our redesigned absentee ballot envelopes come with larger print and easier-to-read instructions,” Landry stated. “These envelopes will ensure that voters more clearly understand how to vote absentee-by-mail while maintaining the stringent election security measures Louisiana deserves and expects.”
To assist voters in familiarizing themselves with the new envelopes, the Secretary of State’s Office has released an instructional video outlining the absentee voting process step-by-step. Voters are encouraged to view the video to ensure their ballots are completed and submitted correctly.
For those with questions or concerns, the Elections Division can be reached at 800.883.2805. Alternatively, voters may contact their parish Registrar of Voters Office for assistance.
The redesigned envelopes are part of Louisiana's broader effort to enhance voter accessibility and maintain confidence in its election system as residents prepare to cast their votes in this critical election.
