Frank Scurlock, a millionaire entrepreneur and lifelong New Orleans resident, has officially announced his candidacy for Mayor. Under the campaign slogan “New Orleans Matters,” Scurlock says he aims to restore and revitalize the city, focusing on the needs of its citizens and addressing long-standing challenges.
Scurlock, running as an independent candidate, unveiled his vision at Joe’s Italian Bistro NOLA on July 7. His platform highlights 100 priorities based on feedback from New Orleans residents and emphasizes the importance of local communities, infrastructure improvements, and public safety. He called for increased support for law enforcement, fire services, and educators, while advocating for the restoration of critical areas like Algiers, the French Quarter, and the Port of New Orleans.
“Our city is resilient, but we deserve better,” Scurlock said. “This campaign is about putting locals first, ensuring safety, and rebuilding New Orleans into a global beacon of culture, heritage, and faith.”
