The Living Well Foundation is a non-profit public charity that supports several Northeast Louisiana based projects aimed at improving the medical, dental, and behavioral health of citizens, mainly focused toward children. The foundation was created after local Glenwood Region Medical Center was sold and the funds were used to establish the charity. LivingWell also maintains a helpful presence on college campuses in the area through non-profit agencies and clinics.

CEO of The LivingWell Foundation, Alice Prophit, says. " We are a resource center for ideas. Brainstorming ways, where are these grants? We're doing seminars for grant writing. Funders are looking for community reentry."

The LivingWell Foundation opens a "grant cycle" every year, during which these organizations can submit applications for funding for their projects. LivingWell reviews these applications and decides on those that will be most beneficial to the communities they target. This year, LivingWell received the highest number of applications since before COVID-19 with a majority being first-time applicants.

The projects whose applications were accepted focused mainly on people's mental and behavioral health. With a number of projects focusing on suicide prevention and care of the elderly suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia. Other areas received funding as well. The West Monroe Fire Department was able to purchase an all-terrain vehicle to aid in search and rescue. A local medical clinic had a new dental suite built. These projects are based mainly in Ouachita and the surrounding parishes.

In the future, LivingWell and it's CEO, Alice Prophit, plan to advance the organization through new school-based health centers including one based out of Ouachita Parish High School. There are also several suicide prevention initiatives and dental health programs in development.
