At least one person is dead and four others were injured after a shooting at a home in the Lacombe area.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said Saturday that the shooting happened Friday about 9:30 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the victims, including the deceased man, who is believed to have forced his way into the home. Four others - three men and a woman - were also shot. They were each transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The parish coroner, Dr. Charles Preston, identified the man killed as 24-year-old Jarred L. Kirsch, of Slidell. An autopsy will be performed Monday to determine the cause of death.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Meredith Timberlake says investigators are still sorting through the details so further information was not immediately available.
