Northeast Louisiana Music Trail honors musician Dale Hawkins

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail will host a Historical Landmark Unveiling in honor of Dale Hawkins, a late musician.

Dale Hawkins was a pioneer musician born on August 22, 1936. He was an American rock singer, a songwriter, and a rhythm guitarist—best known for his song "Susie Q." In 1999 he was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame, and just one year later the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
Hawkins passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas due to colon cancer in February 2010.

This event is free and open to the public, and will begin on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the Mangham Community Center, located at 602 Broadway St, Mangham, LA 71259. Early guests may enjoy the Dragon Fest and musical performances.

For more information about this event, visit the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail Facebook, or visit nelamusictrail.org.
