Ouachita Green invites Ouachita Parish residents to celebrate America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 14, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Monroe Civic Center, 401 Lea Joyner Memorial Expressway in Monroe.
This annual drive-through recycling event provides Ouachita Parish households with an opportunity to responsibly dispose of unwanted household items, recycle materials, and help keep our community clean and environmentally healthy.
The event is open exclusively to households in Ouachita Parish. Driver's licenses will be checked to verify parish residency.
In addition to recycling opportunities, Ouachita Green will host a FREE TREE GIVEAWAY while supplies last. Trees available will include fig, Eagleston Holly, Southern Wax Myrtle, and Shumard Oak. One tree per household. Trees will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
America Recycles Day is an opportunity for residents to take a simple but meaningful step toward reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and keeping reusable materials out of our landfills. Every item recycled makes a difference!
IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: This is a drive-through event. For everyone's safety and to help keep traffic moving, please place all items in your trunk or another easily accessible area of your vehicle where volunteers can safely remove them. Please remain inside your vehicle at all times. Our volunteers will be there to assist you!
