The City of Monroe will temporarily close North 18th Street at Washington Street from Saturday, October 10, through Tuesday, October 13, for railroad crossing repairs and enhancements.
The closures will allow Railroad Traffic Services to repair and enhance the crossing. The public is advised that this will be a total closure of the railroad crossing, and no one will be able to cross the tracks at North 18th St. at the intersection of Washington St. until completion of this project.
Road Closure signs will be stationed at the intersection, and drivers are asked to use caution when traveling near the work zone and follow all posted traffic signs. Barricades will be placed and maintained to ensure the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians.
The City of Monroe asks that the public be patient and drive with caution; it is illegal to drive around barricades.
