On Monday, September 14, 2026, Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Denny’s on Well Road after a 911 caller reported hearing a female screaming for help in a black Toyota Highlander.
When deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, resulting in a pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed in a curve on Garrett Road.
The driver, identified as Chase Robertson, was taken into custody. Deputies also located and secured the female passenger. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash.
Charges are pending, upon release from the hospital. OPSO Investigations and Crime Scene Unit are continuing the investigation.
