Two NASA experts, Hansel Gill, Director of NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, and Dr. LaQuieta Huey of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will speak about the success of NASA’s Artemis program. Under Artemis, NASA will send astronauts on increasingly difficult missions to explore more of the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build a foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars.
On September 15th at 11:45 a.m. at 306 East Franklin Street, Director Gill will provide a NASA update during the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting at Farmerville Church of Christ fellowship hall. Dr. Huey will present programs for school groups visiting the Union Museum of History and Art, located at 211 North Main Street.
Director Gill and Dr. Huey will have a NASA presentation for the public at the Union Museum, which is currently hosting an exhibit on loan from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The museum programs are free to attend.
On September 16th, NASA Public Affairs Specialist Christopher Blair will provide morning student programs for school groups scheduled to visit the museum. For information on scheduling groups, call 318-982-8020.
