The 10th Annual River Rat Paddle Challenge is upon us. Starting Saturday morning, September 19, 2026.
Beginning at 9am, paddlers will line up at the beginning area at Bayou D'Arbonne Boat Ramp. After the starting gun goes off, paddlers will race to the finish line at Lazarre Park in West Monroe.
Then at 10am, the Mini-Mouse race begins. Starting at Forsythe Doat Dock, paddlers will race to the finish line once again at Lazarre Park.
After the races are over, join everyone for the after party. Food and beverages will be waiting at the finish line while the awards are being presented, and the after party is free to the public. Lunch is optional and is available for an extra fee.
Three types of awards will be given. 'The Speedy Gonzales Award', which goes to the team that finishes the fastest. 'The I Smell A River Rat Award', which goes to the team that has the best team spirit and camaraderie. And 'The BIG CHEESE Award', which goes to the team with the most amount of members.
Registration will be online and fees start at $40, including your packet. Long/Short sleeve quick-dry T-shirt or Gildan short sleeve starting at $12. Lunch will be extra. $10 discount if you have an existing ACA insurance and membership.
Packet pickup will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Alley Park at Natchitoches and Trenton Street in downtown West Monroe, 5-7pm. Ouachita Live will be hosting a live band and food trucks, so make sure to stop by.
