The Ark-La-Tex region is bracing for another day of challenging weather conditions as an Extreme Heat Warning and Heat Advisory remain in effect. Residents in East Texas, North Louisiana, and South Arkansas should prepare for scorching temperatures, with highs reaching between 100 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat index is expected to soar to near 115 degrees, posing significant health risks.

Elsewhere in the ArkLaTex, a Heat Advisory continues, with heat index values approaching 110 degrees. It is crucial for residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and check on vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and young children.

In addition to the oppressive heat, scattered thunderstorms are forecasted, primarily impacting East Texas and North Louisiana this evening. These storms may bring strong winds. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
