An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect until 8 pm for parts of Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas, with heat indices potentially reaching 113 degrees.
A Heat Advisory is also active for the rest of the Four State Region, where heat indices could range from 105 to 110 degrees.
Additionally, there is a potential for strong storms to develop later today in the Ouachitas of Southeast Oklahoma and Southwest Arkansas. These storms may move southward, bringing strong and damaging wind gusts, with the possibility of isolated severe thunderstorms continuing into the overnight hours.
There is a Marginal Threat for severe storms in Southwest Arkansas and Northern Louisiana, with damaging winds being the primary concern.
