Ouachita Green open nominations for environmental leaders

WEST MONROE, LA – Ouachita Green is now accepting nominations for its annual Ouachita Green Awards Luncheon, scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the West Monroe Convention Center.

The special event provides an opportunity to recognize the businesses, organizations, law enforcement professionals, youth, and individuals whose dedication and service help make Ouachita Parish a cleaner, greener, and stronger community.

The luncheon will also celebrate and thank the many volunteers and community partners whose support advances Ouachita Green's mission of education, litter abatement, beautification, recycling, and environmental stewardship.
Community members are encouraged to submit nominations for individuals and organizations whose efforts have made a positive impact throughout Ouachita Parish.

Award Categories
Law Enforcement Impact Award
Recognizes law enforcement personnel, including Justices of the Peace, Constables, Judges, and Code Enforcement Officers, who successfully enforce state, parish, or city litter and illegal dumping laws.

Small Business Difference Award
Recognizes a business with 15 or fewer employees that dedicates time, creative resources, special projects, volunteerism, financial donations, and/or in-kind contributions through Ouachita Green.

Larger Business Difference Award
Recognizes a business with more than 15 employees that dedicates time, creative resources, special projects, volunteerism, financial donations, and/or in-kind contributions through Ouachita Green.

Clean Biz of the Year Award (New for 2026)
Recognizes a business registered as a Keep Louisiana Beautiful Clean Biz Partner that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to cleanliness and litter prevention. This award honors a business that goes beyond external volunteer efforts by embedding cleanliness into daily operations, encouraging employees and customers to prevent litter, supporting responsible waste practices, and modeling how business accountability contributes to a cleaner, more vibrant community.

Youth Impact Award
Recognizes a high school senior or younger who demonstrates character, determination, community outreach, and volunteerism through their work with Ouachita Green.

James Poe Award
Recognizes individuals for their commitment to preserving natural beauty, protecting the environment, reducing litter, and educating the residents of Ouachita Parish through their efforts with Ouachita Green.
