The Children's Museum is moving to a new, centrally located building at the corner of Broadmoor and Forsyth Avenue in Monroe, with plans to open by 2027 due to outgrowing their current space.
Director Melissa Saye joins Cory Crowe on Lagniappe to discuss upcoming events, include an Online Safety Workshop for parents on Thursday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, a Dinosaur Experience featuring life-size puppets on Friday at 11:00 AM, and a dinosaur-themed Playtime at the Museum drop-off event for kids on Saturday from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, which requires advance registration. On Sunday, the museum will celebrate Father's Day with free admission for dads and a special gift-making activity for kids from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Throughout the summer, the museum will offer various STEM activities, story times, and special guest sessions, including one focused on pollination. Additionally, an anonymous donor is matching donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000 in June to support the museum's relocation.
