The Ruston Farmers Market held the annual Peach Cookery Contest on June 3 and 4. Held alongside the Louisiana Peach Festival the event showcased the region’s culinary talent with peach-inspired creations.

Participants submitted their dishes, ranging from pies and cobblers to jams and preserves, for judging based on taste, texture, appearance, peach flavor, and creativity. Winners were revealed during Saturday’s market at noon, with Stacy Duke taking first place in the Adult Cobblers & Pies category, followed by Michelle Albritton. In the Youth category, Georgia Rogers earned top honors, while Hannah Peters secured second place. Katherine Peters won first place in the Adult Jams, Jellies, and Preserves division, with Michelle Albritton claiming second.
