MONROE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the traffic signal located on US 165 at Technology Drive in Monroe will soon be permanently adjusted to operate in flash only.

This new configuration is scheduled to go into effect on Friday, June 5, 2026, weather permitting.

This change comes as the result of a request to study the signal to determine if it continues to meet the necessary traffic volume warrants to efficiently operate as an actuated traffic signal.

Results of that study show adjusting to flash only is not anticipated to have a negative impact on traffic flow or safety along the US 165 corridor. After the change is made, DOTD will continue to monitor the intersection to verify that there are no operational issues.

With the signal permanently in flash (yellow), vehicles on US 165 are no longer required to stop at the intersection with Technology Drive. Motorists on Technology Drive will encounter a red flash, which should be treated as a stop sign.

Drivers are urged to be aware of the change at the intersection.
