| Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Likely This Afternoon Through This Evening | ||||||
Look for strong to severe thunderstorms to develop in advance of a cold front this afternoon northwest of the I-30 corridor, including Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma and Southwest Arkansas.
These storms will propagate south and east rapidly by late afternoon into the evening hours towards the I-20 Corridor of Northeast Texas and Northern Louisiana, likely exiting the region near or just before Midnight. Strong and damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall will be the primary impacts with these storms through this evening. However, an isolated large hail and an isolated tornado threat cannot be discounted.
Additionally, the Four State Region will be entering a very wet pattern beginning today. This pattern will likely continue through the remainder of the work week, the upcoming weekend and possibly beyond. There will be periods during this long timeframe where some areas may not see much rainfall, but likewise, there will also be periods where rainfall could become excessive, like on Thursday into Thursday Night. A forecast rainfall accumulation graphic is also contained in this packet. | ||||||
