Empty Bowls Fundraiser: Fighting Hunger in Northeast Louisiana

The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana's annual Empty Bowls fundraiser returns on Saturday, May 30 at the Monroe Civic Center to tackle food insecurity in the region. Attendees receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl, symbolizing the challenges of hunger, and enjoy an array of soups and desserts from local chefs and restaurants.

With one in five people in Northeast Louisiana facing food insecurity, the event provides an impactful way to help. Proceeds benefit the Food Bank, which supports over 30,000 residents monthly through vital programs and partner agencies.

Sarah Hoffman and Claudia Salazar join Cory Crowe on Lagniappe.
