Two arrested in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries

(Ouachita Parish, LA) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries reported over the past two months in the North Monroe and Sterlington areas.

The burglaries occurred at Pinnacle Apartments, Signature Place Apartments, and Bayou Maison Townhomes, where victims reported multiple items stolen from vehicles, including firearms. During the investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance footage and identified a suspect vehicle connected to the crimes.

Deputies later located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 165 and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit that ended in a crash. Deputies apprehended the driver, identified as Lenquez Martin.

Investigators executed search warrants on the suspect vehicle and residence, recovering multiple stolen items and firearms linked to the burglaries, as well as property connected to cases being investigated by the Sterlington Police Department.

Lenquez Martin, 21, and Leonard Martin, 19, were arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on the following charges:

· Eight counts of Simple Burglary

· Three counts of Possession of Stolen Firearms

· One count of Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Lenquez Martin also faces charges of Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Resisting an Officer.

The investigation remains ongoing.
