Free connected parent workshop planned March 17 at Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum

Flyer for a free Connected Parent Workshop on March 17 from 5:30–7 p.m. at the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum, featuring a parent workshop with Dr. Emily Jones and children’s STEM activities.

MONROE, La. — The Center for Children & Families, in partnership with the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum, will host a Connected Parent Workshop on Tuesday, March 17, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum, located at 323 Walnut Street in Monroe.

The free event is designed to help parents and caregivers better understand their children and build stronger, healthier relationships at home. Previous workshops have received positive feedback from participants, with many caregivers sharing that they left feeling more confident and equipped with practical tools they could immediately use with their children.

Dr. Emily Jones, Clinical Director at The Center for Children & Families, will lead the workshop. The session will focus on how stress and life experiences affect a child’s brain, body, and behavior, and how caregivers can respond in ways that strengthen connection and trust.

While parents participate in the workshop, children will enjoy a supervised evening inside the museum with STEM activities, creative games, and interactive play led by Children’s Museum staff.

Families who attend the event will also be entered for a chance to win a free one-year family pass to the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

Parents and caregivers interested in attending can register here.
