The Monroe Fire Department is currently investigating a fire fatality.
Around 12:00pm. Thursday, February 5, 2026, Monroe Fire Department was notified of a death at 123 South Pointe Ave.
A 74-year old male victim was discovered deceased inside the structure by an employee going to deliver him food.
It is believed that the fire occurred sometime on February 4th and smothered itself out prior to anyone noticing.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Monroe Fire Department Investigative Division in collaboration with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office and is still under investigation.
