Dixie Center for the Arts kicks off 2026 with exciting live performances in Ruston

Ruston, LA –The Dixie Center for the Arts begins the new year with gratitude and anticipation for another season of exceptional performances and community engagement. Following a successful 2025, the Dixie Center invites audiences to join in celebrating live music, comedy, and the arts throughout January.

“Every ticket purchased, every donation, and every visit in 2025 helped keep the Dixie Center thriving,” said Executive Director of the Dixie Center for the Arts. “We are grateful to our community and look forward to sharing more memorable experiences in 2026.”

Upcoming Performances

The Walrus | Friday, January 17 | 7:00 PM
The Walrus delivers a Beatles tribute that emphasizes music over gimmicks. Comprised of four accomplished New Orleans musicians, the band performs early favorites, psychedelic classics, and unforgettable ballads with authenticity and energy. Originally a side project, The Walrus grew during the COVID years through porch concerts and now performs sold-out shows across the Southeast. The band received a 2025 Threadhead Cultural Foundation Grant to record a new album of Beatles arrangements, with a 2026 release planned.

William Lee Martin — Seemed Smart at the Time Tour | Saturday, January 24 | 7:30 PM
William Lee Martin brings nearly three decades of smart, fast-paced, and refreshingly clean comedy to the Dixie Center. The Seemed Smart at the Time Tour features new stories drawn from everyday life, enhanced by original music and a full audio-visual presentation. Known for constantly updating his material, Martin’s performances offer unique, relatable, and engaging experiences for every audience.
